Who We Are

St. Anne's believes children grow and develop best in an atmosphere where they are encouraged to explore, take safe risks, attempt to solve problems, and interact with peers and teachers.

  • Infant Program: 1 – 12 months ~ Infants sleep and eat on their own schedule.  We ask that each parent gives us information about their baby so we can plan for what makes them unique and understand the routines that comfort them best.
  • Toddler Program: 12 - 36 months ~ Toddlers grow and develop so fast and in so many different ways: large and small motor skills, social and emotional skills and most important language skills. Toddlers are given many opportunities to develop in these areas through music, stories, games and large motor play areas inside and outside.
  • Preschool Program ~ Getting Ready for Kindergarten:  We believe children learn and develop best in an atmosphere where they are encouraged to explore, take safe risks, attempt to solve problems, and interact positively with peers and teachers.
  • Each classroom and age level will vary to reflect the age group's individuality and developmental needs. The classroom environments are based around Interest Centers aimed at teaching and developing children's many varying talents and interests.

The Learning is child-initiated and teacher-guided. Children control the use of materials and create their own play scenarios.

Teachers use their knowledge of the child’s development and their knowledge of curriculum to prepare an interesting and rich environment that offers children choices: where to play, which materials to use, how to use them, and whether to play alone or with others.  They focus on building community, personal relationships, classroom rules, safety inside and outside of the classroom and problem-solving challenging situation.

St. Anne's Children & Family Center was established in 1943.  Once offering maternity care, adoption services and care for medically fragile children, St. Anne's is now a state-of-the-art Child Care Program available to children aged one month through six years of age.  St. Anne’s offers enrollment to families of all faiths and backgrounds.

Sponsored by Catholic Charities Eastern WA, the mission of St. Anne's is to provide an early learning program that collaborates with parents in caring for and educating their children.  We view children as competent and capable learners who learn best in a hands-on, intellectually rich environment that sparks their imagination and prepares them to be successful learners ready for school.
