Who We Are

FOM has a number of programs that need volunteer support including parallel service projects & local volunteering in Africa and the United States; Virtual Service, or web-based opportunities for cultural literacy; support with exhibitions and catalogues, including work with the Willis Bell Archive, a unique endangered collection of photographs taken across Ghana (1950-1980); Playtime in Africa, a local/global effort to develop park space for creative learning, with special attention to the need in urban Africa.

What We Do

Friends of Mmofra is a non-profit agency connecting youth and their communities through parallel global development projects inspired by culture, nature and play. Through various programs in schools and communities, FOM advances helps youth to realize the benefits of cross-cultural engagement and global competency. Mmofra, which means children, reflects our agency's focus on youth and the advancement of learning through play. We also make direct inputs to global development projects which benefit children.  Our principal international partner is Mmofra Foundation in Ghana.
