Who We Are

The RISE program is committed to reinforcing the importance of support in education by building relationships through passionate service.

Volunteers can choose from multiple different sites that target service towards at-risk youth and schools in a low-income neighborhood. Each site has a designated Program Coordinator who works in close partnership with the organization to establish the need and level of support required by volunteers. The Program Coordinator then coordinates and empowers each volunteer throughout their time of service to meet that need. The sites to choose from include:
  • Audubon Elementary School
  • Holmes Elementary School
  • Glover Middle School
  • Northwood Middle School
  • North Central High School
  • Spark Central Drop-in Site
  • STEM opportunities
  • Teach The Movement

What We Do

The RISE program is committed to Reinforcing the Importance of Support in Education by building relationships through passionate service. RISE is a tutoring/mentoring service led by Whitworth students committed to helping students in Spokane find their motivation to succeed.

We believe that all students have potential and through rigorous education and genuine relationships, students can be motivated and empowered to achieve this potential.

Our goals include:

  • meeting students where they are at
  • providing students with academic and relational support necessary to graduate high school
  • challenging students to go beyond their expectations in the pursuit of higher education
