Paid volunteer experience.

The BELIEF Mentoring Team is seeking strong, kind, and committed Whitworth students of all ages, genders, and majors to serve as near-peer mentors to local high school students in structured meeting times throughout the academic year. Supervised by the BELIEF Mentoring Team, BELIEF Mentors (YOU) are paired in small groups with local high school sophomores, juniors or seniors to invest in their development and promote higher education as a viable option for their future.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Attend all mentor training sessions – 4 hours each semester. Develop a mentoring relationship with your assigned mentee that is strong, kind, and committed. Utilize the MentorPro app to stay check in with your mentee between visits to their high school and the March 5th on-campus Mentor Retreat. BELIEF Mentoring staff will prepare you for success as a mentor.

TIME EXPECTATIONS: All told, we expect this to take approximately 22 hours of time between October and April.

The Dornsife Center for Community Engagement invites you to Reinforce the Importance of Support in Education by becoming a RISE tutor or mentor at a local middle or high school. We are looking for committed students to volunteer.
