Distributed December and May if all events are attended. The BELIEF Mentoring Team is seeking strong, kind, and committed Whitworth students of all ages, genders, and majors to serve as near-peer mentors to local high school students in structured meeting times throughout the academic year. Supervised by the BELIEF Mentoring Team, BELIEF Mentors (YOU) are paired one -on-one or in small groups with local high school sophomores or juniors to invest in their development and promote higher education as a viable option for their future. RESPONSIBILITIES: Attend all mentor training sessions – 4 hours each semester in October and February. Develop a mentoring relationship with your assigned mentee that is strong, kind, and committed. Participate in both on-campus Mentoring Events, sticking close to your assigned mentee through each workshop and activity. BELIEF Mentoring staff will prepare you for what you will be doing with your mentee during these events. TIME EXPECTATIONS: All told, we expect this to take approximately 22 hours of time between October and April.
