Volunteer: Big Brothers Big Sisters

Do you want to impact the life of a child in our community!  We have several programs focusing on matching youth in the community with a volunteer.

Community Based Program- We match youth ages 6-18 years of age in the community who need and want a mentor with an adult volunteer.  The match (Little and Big) get together and enjoy mutually fun, low cost activities 2-4 times a month, 2-4 hours each time.  The time commitment is 12 months. 

 

Site-Based Program- This program matches a volunteer who meets with the student at their elementary school one time a week during their lunch and recess, about 45 minutes.  The time commitment is one academic school year. 

 

MPower- This program matches high school students with a volunteer in the community to support planning for post high school attainment. The mentor will meet with the student in person, a minimum of twice monthly at the student's school location. The match will focus on social-emotional topics, well-being as well as post high school career exploration. Mentors and their student typically spend about 30-45 minutes twice a month connecting in-person at the student's school. High Schools in this program are: Mt. Spokane and Shadle Park.
