Van Driver

Duties 

Drive Family Promise’s 15 passenger van to transport families in Bridges program to and from Family Promise Day Center at 904 E Hartson Ave Spokane WA 99202 Commitment is once a week (or more) for 3 month period: take a morning (6:15 am- 8:00 am) and/or evening (5:00 pm – 7:00 pm) shift approx. 2hrs Consider signing up for back up shifts for emergency coverage. Work closely with Lead Driver to coordinate schedule and logistics and be willing to contact driver teammates to find coverage for shifts you will miss If your schedule allows be willing to be “on call” or trade shifts with other driver teammates if they need coverage

Excellent Drivers

Have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Are willing to undergo a background check and attend training. Are comfortable driving a 15-passenger van and have a clean driving record. Are punctual, because families are depending on them. Are good communicators: check their email and phones for weekly updates or questions from teammates and communicate in advance for when they’re unable to make it to their shift. Enjoy talking to families and providing a listening ear. Have a servant’s heart that chooses to support our families. Facility Maintenance:

We rely on the construction or handyman skills of our facility maintenance volunteers to keep the facilities running smoothly. You’d assist the facility maintenance manager and crew with repair projects and improvements that can be made. We’d expect you for a few hours a week when you can, sometime between Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm.

Receptionist Team: Hartson

 

For those that thrive by tapping into their organizing skills, we’ve been looking for you! Our volunteer receptionists come alongside our office managers in miscellaneous office management duties. If you get satisfaction from checking items off to-do lists and can commit to 3-4 shifts for a day or two a week for three months, we’d appreciate any skills you’d have to offer. Our hours are 9:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday so you’ll make it home in time for dinner, guaranteed.

Group Serve Dinner at Open Doors:

 

Food represents warmth and gathering, as well as fulfilling a need and fostering connection. Serving in this capacity means bringing food ready-to-eat along with the proper utensils to feed 60 guests. You’ll then have the chance to share this meal among our Open Doors community at 2002 E Mission Ave, kids and adults alike, joining them to eat and cultivating blessings both ways.

Shelter Care Team: 

Shelter care volunteers hold down the fort with their adaptable, attentive attitude. This is reflected in balancing operational duties, such as cleaning and organizing, alongside building meaningful relationships with guests. We’d hope to have you for at least a 2-hour shift a week for approximately 3 months.

Kids’ Crew: 

If working with kiddos are your calling, we have a volunteer position that’ll suit your caring personality. Kids’ Crew volunteers assist the interns in supervising and planning fun activities, alongside intention to have the little ones feel seen and loved. The Kids’ Crew program runs from 6:00-8:00pm, Monday through Friday which gives room for you to pick at least one night a week to join us for three months.
