Volunteer: Spokane Parks and Rec Therapeutic Recreation ServicesStudents can participate as volunteers in classes or recreational events for individuals with developmental disabilities. (A schedule of classes and events will be provided.) Students can select classes of interest, and plan to attend regular class sessions as a classroom volunteer. Students can also participate as volunteers in the TRS Skiing Program. Assistance is needed for adaptive skiing programs (mobility limitations), developmental disabilities skiing programs (cognitive limitations). Individuals with minimal skiing proficiency can be of assistance with these events, which include alpine and Nordic skiing. (Skiing Program trainings schedule will be announced.) Please contact Alice Busch to discuss background check and other required forms. Students will visit with Alice Busch (Recreation Supervisor) to discuss skills and interests.
