Volunteers of America: Crosswalk Teen Shelter

  • Housing

Who We Are

We seek volunteers to lead life skills classes in an area of expertise, especially in the after-school hours, or to interact with youth sharing leisure time and building relationships. Finally we would appreciate clerical support in our office. Volunteers must be able to commit to a five hour afternoon shift once a week for a minimum of 6 months, attend a training, be 21 or over and able to pass a background check. One (possibly two) practicum positions available.

What We Do

Crosswalk is a shelter, school and multi-service center for homeless and high-risk teens ages 13-17. Our services include case management, three meals a day, clothing, an alternative high school and an overnight shelter. Volunteers provide supervision and interact with our teens by talking, playing games, watching movies, helping with school work, etc.
