Who We Are
We need volunteers in our facility to hang out with youth at CCW's drop-in center, either in the afternoons or for dinner. You can help to support youth in accessing services like laundry, showers, food, and clothing, play board games, or just have a conversation. Finally, we would love support with tutoring youth with GED subjects or SAT studying. You can also assist in teaching job training classes for writing a resume, or communication skills, or devise a Whimsy Class of cooking, art or poetry; we welcome your ideas for a new class! Volunteer training and age requirements apply. Volunteer Qualifications: Those who wish to work directly with the youth must sign our statement of faith, be at least 21 years of age, complete a volunteer application and interview, and pass a federal background check. Anyone with a felony conviction will be unable to work directly with our youth.
We show-up alongside youth Who are homeless on their journey toward reconciliation with themselves, God and Society. We strongly believe that the body of Christ is active and we need individuals with varying gifts to contribute to what God is already doing here. In other words; if someone has a strong sense of social justice, we need that person here because our clients are treated unjustly, if someone has a strong sense of evangelism, we need that person here as well to share the love of Jesus with their words. We are a collaboration of different Christian denominations but our common core is our love for Jesus and our cal to love the least of these.
What We Do
We build relationships with youth in our drop-in center and on outreach. We meet youth where they are at and get to know them. Our clients come to our drop-in center for any number of reasons; they may come for a meal or clothing and we want to share the love of Christ to those individuals. We have groups come and prepare/ serve a meal, clean up our facility, paint, or teach a class in life skills.
