YWCA: Domestic Violence Shelter

We love volunteers to assist us with stocking the shelter to meet the needs of women and children. We also rely on volunteer support to assist us with special programs at the shelter, with outreach to the community concerning domestic violence, and with advocacy for women.

The Alternatives to Domestic Violence Program (ADVP) is the only state recognized domestic violence service program in Spokane County. The comprehensive program supports and advocates for victims who are experiencing abuse and violence in their relationships. This program provides a confidential safe shelter for women and children.
