Who We Are
Hope House welcomes volunteers to assist with our clothing bank, to help with food distribution and to support us with housekeeping. We also seek morning and evening shelter staff to check in shelter visitors and assist them with wake-up in the morning. One (maximum of two) practicum positions available.
What We Do
Originally known as the Downtown Women's Shelter, Hope House was founded in response to the 1997 serial murders of women on the streets of Spokane to offer women protection from violence on the street. Operated by Volunteers of America since 2001, Hope House is dedicated to making a significant difference in the lives of homeless women. Hope House provides an overnight shelter and permanent housing for single, homeless women, ages 18 and over. Volunteers are needed to help in the emergency shelter in the mornings or evenings. Volunteers must be 18 or over and able to pass a background check.
