The House of Charity was gifted last year with 5 beautiful 6’x12’ raised garden beds. Spring has sprung and it is time to prepare them for another season of growth and harvest. The soil needs to be tilled and refreshed with a blend of manure, peat moss, and vermiculite. Once the soil is prepared, it will be ready for the planting of various vegetables and flower seeds. We can provide the tools; all we need are a couple of willing green thumbs and the supplies. The garden beds will be tended by House of Charity community volunteers, service learning students, and residents of CCS housing. The fruits of their labors will be enjoyed by all!
*To get started, all volunteers must complete our online application here. Please allow enough lead time for application processing before event. One time volunteers may choose a group leader only to fill out an application. Children under 18 must have chaperone present at all times.
