Second Harvest is gearing up for our annual Letter Carriers food drive taking place on Saturday, May 10th!
We will again be collecting donated food drive items at the following postal sites and locations: Sunset, Hays Park, Hillyard, Northpointe, Shadle, Regal, Manito, Metro and Bancroft school.
Driver/runner teams will be needed at all locations (except Bancroft school) from 9 am to 2 pm: Driver/runner teams = 2 volunteers. (Please self-register and feel free to pair up with a friend, small group or family. If volunteering individually you may be paired up with another community member.) Volunteers are asked to utilize their personal vehicle while following a postal map of residences to collect donated food drive items and return the donations to the designated post office.
Site workers will be needed at all locations from 10 am to 1:30 pm & 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm: Site workers are needed to help unload donated food items from mail carrier trucks as they return to the post office, and move them onto Second Harvest trucks. (There is ample down-time while waiting for the mail trucks to return to the post office so it's a good idea to bring a lawn chair!)
Kids are welcome to participate!
