Description

We are looking for 9 Whitworth students to volunteer at STEMplosion on March 14, 2023! STEMplosion is an event hosted by Whitworth's CS department in partnership with the Mead School District. The event welcomes 60 students who are in 5th-8th grade for an evening of computational games, Hour of Code, Whitworth CS projects, and programming puzzles. Students will also get to meet faculty and students from the CS department, with a goal of helping students better understand the exciting opportunities in computer science.

 

Volunteer role

Date: March 14, 2023 (pi day!)

Time: 5:30pm-8:30pm (to be confirmed)

Location: Eric Johnston Science Center

Responsibilities: Volunteers will help with registration for the 5th-8th graders (checking names off, handing name tags and t-shirts out) and guiding the groups throughout the building. Volunteers will also help with set-up and tear-down.
